Ain't you...? Empty Ain't you...?

Post by Izumi Yamanaka Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:40 pm

It was a pretty sunny day out in Whisper Hallow. Almost perfect, if it weren't for Izumi's shoe laces snapping in the middle of her walk. Why was she out walking? Simple - to enjoy being outside and take a little break from studying. Her dorm room, while absolutely adorable and had plenty of sunlight, was quite suffocating at times.

She stretched her arms up and smiled. Today was a good day for sure.

Zilo was on the soccer field he was practicing his kicks as he was kicking the ball in the air and keeping it up in the air, as he was kicking the soccer ball he look over and saw a girl he never saw before he did through she was pretty cute, but he quickly went back to paying attention to his kick as he kicks the ball to his front and had the ball slowly drop in his eyes he lifts his leg back and swing his leg at the ball with all of his force and made the ball fly at the net and even made the net fall back from the fierce kicking power even though Zilo never notice his own kick was that powerful.

As Izumi was passing by the soccer field she couldn't help but notice a lone person practicing. Intrigued, she moved closer until she was only a safe distance away. And as he made the shot Izumi grinned and clapped loudly at his achievement.

Soccer had always been an interesting sport to her, but she had never been a team player. That was the main reason why she took up tennis instead. It all depend on her own set of skills and judgement; never having to depend on other people (except for doubles, but that was a whole different matter).

"Nice shot!" Izumi complimented him, still clapping.

Zilo blush as he never had anyone clap for him over getting a ball in a net he gave a smile and bowed in a dumb way because he did not have a full audience or because there is only one person clapping. Zilo look up from his bow and felt even more like a loser for bowing for no reason.

Her grinned widened as he did a good-natured bow in reaction to her clapping. Walking closer Izumi was surprised that he wasn't that much taller than her; about four or five inches - give or a take a few. Once Izumi was merely a few feet in front of him she crossed her arms a bit.

"So you in the soccer club, uh..." She let the sentence trail off, since she didn't know his name yet and it was an opportunity for him to introduce himself.

"No I am not in the soccer club" he said to her as he lifts his body back up "I never tried out for the soccer team and I would be to embarrassed to even try anyway" he said feeling embarrassed for saying those things to a girl he just meet as he look down and saw the ball he kicked before bouncing from the net and rolling back to him, Zilo kicks the ball back up and started to kick the ball in the air as he talks to the girl he did felt calm when he kicks the soccer ball.

Izumi tilted her head to the side and hummed a bit as she watched him play with the soccer ball; not at all minding that he didn't take up the chance to say his name. Uncrossing her arms Izumi scrutinized his soccer technique with her purplish-blue eyes. He certainly knew what he was doing, she could see that clearly.

"Really? I think you'd do pretty well, unless, you have stage fright," She said as she observed him even more. He looked like one of those shy types with great potential, but couldn't really do much unless he was pushed into it. "Oh! And I'm Izumi Yamanaka, by the way."

"Ah, please ta' meetcha' Zilo," Izumi said, her southern accent coming out a bit. "And yeah, I like soccer, though I wouldn't want to play it. Not my kinda sport."

Then she snorted and rolled her eyes as Zilo casually assuming that she had a boyfriend.

"I watch it sometimes. And why'd you think I have a boyfriend?"

Her thoughts drifted to Kira Yagami, her fellow Martial Arts club member and mentor. They had already been mistaken as a bickering couple (which she totally didn't think so), and if Zilo had seen them at some point during the school day then he had probably come to the same conclusion.

Heat poured into her cheeks, and becoming a light blush at his blunt compliment. Even though she'd heard it multiple times, Izumi was always embarrassed to be called 'beautiful' or even remotely good looking.

"Hahaha! T-Thanks, I guess," she laughed nervously before laughing out right when the ball fell on him. "Oh geez! I'm sorry for laughing, but t-that was funny! Hahaha!"

Izumi clutched at her stomach with one arm while the other was forcibly trying to keep her mouth shut from laughing anymore. His later comments threw her off and simply made her laugh harder. This kid just didn't know how much he was making her feel self-conscious about herself, and how awkward it was starting to get. But Izumi simply waved it off as part of his 'shy' attribute.

"Ah... Thanks for the laugh Zilo," Izumi said as she let the laughter roll off of her. "... but that was pretty awkward. So, moving on, ain't you good at other sports or just soccer?"

She hummed a little and put most of her weight onto her right leg so that her hip was slightly jutting out. Izumi then nodded as he replied to her question.

"Ah... I see. So just soccer then," pursing her lips a bit as she took in his build Izumi nodded again, though it was more to herself than to him. "Yeah... I can definitely see that. And no, I don't have a boyfriend. It's too complicated to be in a relationship right now."

Izumi raised an eyebrow at his little frown but shrugged it off. It wasn't any of her business to what made him upset. Shifting her weight to her other leg she brought a hand up to tug on her hair a bit as she thought.

"Hm... I guess the basic things. After school clubs, the Mall, and what not," she replied, not really knowing since she hadn't actually gone out of the school grounds except to go to the hospital (and that was before school started).

"Hang out? Sure, that would be great."

Izumi assumed that it was simply a get together between newly formed friends, and didn't think much of it. Besides, hanging out with Zilo might actually be beneficial to her attitude towards guys seeing as the past few of them weren't exactly her ideal type of people to hang out with.

Izumi shrugged and pocketed her hands into her light jacket. She was wearing black jogging pants with a thin red line going down the side, a white tank top and a gray jacket over it.

"Hm... I don't really know. I'd really like to just stick around her some more if you're cool with that," she said. "How bout you teach me a bit of soccer, yeah?"

"Thanks," Izumi returned his smile before nodding in acknowledgement. "Yeah. I do wanna learn, at least, the basics you know."

Then her eyes sparkled knowingly as he stated that only goalies were allowed to touch the ball, which, of course, she knew already but hummed to confirm his statement.

"Alight. Only goalies can touch the ball," with a flick of her wrist, Izumi pushed her bangs away from her eyes. "And what about the other positions? I don't really get those."

"ok there is striker's, striker is simply to score on every offensive attack. This is of course impossible, but you should try to score as often you can. To increase you goal scoring you must always think and be faster than your opponents.

When you hear the word sweeper in soccer you probably think on the big German legend of soccer the great Kaiser (King) more known as Franz Beckenbauer who dominated world cup of 70’s with his elegance on the soccer field.

the Center Fullback(or stopper’s) main task is to mark the opposing team forwards or central midfielders. Distributing the ball to the midfielders and playing offensively at intervals is also an important skill if you want to perform well as stopper.

the Left/Right Fullback If your team use a flat back formation, your main task would be to mark your opponent’s forwards. Playing fullback in soccer requires that you are dependable and willing to give up any offensive raid. Whether you are playing as right or left fullback you will still need to concentrate completely on your game in defense.

the Wingback To get a feeling on how to play as wingback, I advise you to study Dani Alves and Maicon which are both playing for Brazil. By doing that you’ll be able to notice what they are doing in particular situations which should give you a brief idea on how to play on this position.

Left/Right Midfielder are Good crosses in the offense are a requirement to perform well as right or left midfielder. You will also carry the ball up the field because left/right midfielders have more room compared to the center midfielders.

Defensive Midfielder As a defensive midfielder your job is to operate in front of your defense line. You must have enough strength to force yourself to perform to the maximum. Strong character is also a requirement.

Central midfielder Playing as the central midfielder requires good passing and ball handling skills. You must also distribute the ball safely among the offenders while doing everything to stop or slow down your opponent’s offensive attacks before they reach your last defensive line.

The Winger To succeed as winger you should be able to sprint away from your opponents, be able to run 40-50 yards up and down the field, score goals and also serve your teammates with quality crosses. This requires of course a lot of energy which means that your fitness needs to be at the top.

Second Striker To succeed as second striker you will need to have exceptional ball skills (e.g shooting, passing and dribbling). You will also need to be good at heading and even know how to score goals. Beside that you need to be strong in order to hold off your opponents and shield the ball while waiting for your teammates to catch up.

Centre Forward To succeed as centre forward you will need be aggressive, brave and be able to maintain your focus during the whole game. You also need to be prepared to work hard without the ball, know how to dribble your opponents and be able to score goals from any situation.

Attacking/Offensive Midfielder Soccer Positions - Offensive MidfielderTo succeed as offensive midfielder you will need excellent skills with the ball, be creative intelligent, know how to score goals and also be able to encourage your teammates during the games. You also need to be prepared on criticism because you’ll surely receive plenty of that when your team fails to score goals and utilize the attacking strategies that are determined by your coach. " he said giving the basics of the Soccer Positions

"Oh...Oh wow," Izumi chuckled a little at the information. It was so much that it made her head feel a little light. She knew that soccer was a complicated game with all the players and such, but it was a bit overwhelming. So... not wanting to look stupid, Izumi merely nodded and smiled as Zilo continued to explain. "That's a lot of positions. How many players are allowed in the field again? I forgot..."

It was true. She really didn't know how many were allowed to play or the average number of players in the team.
